It’s really getting hot out here in Tennessee. Yup. The good ole 90 degree and humid weather is back. If only I owned a pool. *sigh* I grew up with a pool and I really miss it!
Anyway, I do know that the room I’ve had as my Craft Studio (it’s really a craft room, but studio sounds more fancy smancy) is really cramped and It’s also half a bed room because I keep my clothes in there. There isn’t really a closet so I’m moving the Studio to a slightly bigger room with a closet and it will be much nicer! I started out just making jewelry and the supplies/tools didn’t take up too much room. Now adding costume making to the mix and suddenly it’s gone crazy! I also need some type of shelving unit for costume supplies. I’m honestly not sure how other costumers keep their wigs? Out on a foam head or in the net? I’m trying to keep mine on the foam heads for now.
I’ve been very proud of my Craft Studio so far. It’s definitely has my personality and it is fun to work in when it’s clean. hehe… I have all my geeky figurines on top of my work bench and my personal framed photos on the walls. I have speakers and bass so I can listen to my Ipod. It’s just a disaster of a mess right now, so I need to get a move on to MOVE to the other room. THE CREATIVITY MUST COMMENCE! My boyfriend and I are planning on having a yard sale in the next few weeks as well because we have too much crap and need to get rid of stuff badly. This will also help with clean up. This is just a glimpse of what my room looks like now:
YES! I am exposing my messy room to the internet(but it’s good motivation to keep going)!! I will post some AFTER pics of the new Studio when I get it all together. I am going to try to get a move on, so I would say…two weeks from now.
Other than that…I’ve just been trying to figure out what to do with myself and my life! I’ve been unemployed now for a few months because the place I worked for shut down. I’ve always, always had trouble knowing what I’ve wanted to do with myself career wise. It’s clear what I love and what hobbies I love, but is there anyway to turn some of that into a career? Or do I have to go back to school to gain a skill of some sort. Unfortunately I feel like my degree has gotten me no where. Don’t get me wrong! I absolutely loved going to Penn State and it was some of the best times of my life. I wouldn’t give it up for anything. I learned a lot of life lessons there, but as for the classes I had in the focus of my degree…Didn’t really learn any skills. It’s absolutely frustrating not knowing what you want to do. I need to start researching what I could do if I go back to school. I’ve thought about learning coding for web building, or trying to further my skills in Photoshop. I really enjoy Photography and using Photoshop. One idea I’ve felt solid on since I went to college was that I don’t want to end up working for some big company. I would love to have a nice little shop some day. My own small business and offer something that entertains people or makes them happy in some small way. I want to offer something that is completely different and new to the area. I get so frustrated when I’m constantly seeing crappy small mini malls come in all over town with stuff we don’t need like, Any Lab Test Now, Check For Cash, another bank, Matrix teeth whitening, etc. So anyway, I guess I need to do some research and see if going back to school is for me.
In other news, I was checking my web stats recently and found people were Hotlinking some of the Coffee Prince images I had from the Post about the show. I had to get my Hotlinking Prevention Squad on the case and it seemed they took care of it. PLEASE don’t Hotlink my images!! Ones I used for reference, like the Coffee Prince images, I don’t mind if you do a Save As and then use them, but don’t use up our bandwidth. Obviously I don’t want anyone stealing my personal pictures. If you do want to use any of my personal images, including ones of myself, friends or others I’ve taken, please contact me first. If you are not sure what hotlinking is click here.
I’m outta here!! I’m definitely in a summer mood lately so I’m hoping to celebrate this weather with some grillin’! 🙂
