My Hopefuls from the E3 Expo 2011!
[Sorry this wasn't updated on Monday like it should have been! Had a few issues with my Poll, but we're ready to roll now!]
It’s been a decent Monday & I am not one to speak highly of Mondays!
I was happy to get up today, eat some leftovers, post my video review from earlier & watch the E3 Expo on G4.
Wasn’t too sure about the guy from Ubisoft. He seemed to be hyped up on Energy Drinks or something! Or maybe he’s just crazy like that all the time. ;) It was also quite amusing when Tim Schafer called out the simulated Family! He said something to the effect of, “Queue the simulated family!” You know, those people they have come out to pretend to be a son & father enjoying a game together, while demonstrating the game?
Anyway, from watching the Expo today there are definitely a lot of games I’m excited about. The Tomb Raider trailer, of course, looked jaw dropping and yet I have never played any Tomb Raider games for an extended period of time. Not that I dislike them, just haven’t had the chance to play. Another game I’ve never played, but would like to check out is Mass Effect. This series has been strong with each new game that comes out. My guess is my boyfriend will be purchasing this one & I will be giving it a try.
These are the games I’m most excited about so far:
- Fable: The Journey (X360)
- Halo 4 (X360)
- Ghost Recon: Future Soldier (DS, PC, PS3, X360)
- The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (Wii)
Fable: The Journey:
I started playing Fable with the second game in the series. I have been a big fan since then! I love a game where I can explore & find secrets. I love how you can personalize everything. It’s beautiful to look at & there is so much attention to detail. One of my biggest complaints is the bugs in the games. There seems to be corrected bugs when a new game comes out, but with all new bugs! Lol. During the last Fable, Fable 3, I kept hoping and expecting an update to come out to fix the bugs, but it never came. So I’m begging you Peter Molyneux!!! Pleaseeeee don’t release Fable: The Journey too early and rush it out there just to try to stay in the game! I would rather you take your time and make a great game instead of a good game! Personal request from me, thanks. ;)
The whole using the Kinect within the game looks neat, but I’m neutral on that feature. So far it looks as if you will be able to cast your magic with it and drive a horse and cart or use it in other battles. I’m always nervous about how well the sensor will work with a new game. It’s been good so far with things like Dance Central.
Halo 4:
Well if you played Halo 3 (on Legendary), you can see this picks up from the end of that game. Seeing the teaser trailer, I’m very excited about this! Master Chief and Cortana are back baby!! Once again, I’m a big fan of this series. The only Halo I have not played was the first one, Halo Combat Evolved. So how convenient, for me, they are making an Anniversary Edition of that game!
Ghost Recon: : Future Soldier:
Probably the only reason I would go for this game is because I loooved Ghost Recon 2: Advanced Warfighter. I have been wanting to play another Ghost Recon ever since. I used to enjoy playing with people online and hunting the bad guys. I actually talked with decent people online with this one! Not like your normal online goobers.
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword:
I love the Zelda series!! I hope that this game can live up to Twilight Princess or Ocarina of Time since those are my two favorite Zelda games. From the trailer I saw, you didn’t really get to hear much about the story line. The wiimote and nunchuk’s worked great with the last Zelda game so I’m sure they would be fine in this one. The use of the Wiimote and Nunchuk’s in the Zelda games are a perfect demonstration of their abilities, in my opinion. So anyway, here’s to hoping!
Please feel free to give your opinion in the poll below!
I obviously didn’t list every game coming out, but that’s why I added the blank option at the end if you wanted to type in your own selection. :) Thanks a lot!
